Visiting the Land Of White Elephants
Thailand has garnered the acclaim of South-East Asia's most popular travel destination because of a number of reasons. The country is a collage of animated scenes that comprises hill tribes selling handicrafts, bustling modern cities crowded with motorbikes and tuk-tuks, lush landscapes dotted with traditional farming villages, Buddhist temples tended by orange-robed monks, ancient ruins and stunning coastlines peppered with blue lagoons and gorgeous beaches. Such a captivating portrait makes Thailand a hot spot for the avid travelers. It gets its name from '' Thai", which is Tai word for '' free ''. The '' Thai '' identity was formed in the late 13 th century at Sukhothai. Thailand is a modern democratic country.
